It had to be black..obviously…
The first thing Zoe asked me was if i could do ‘different’ No way was she going to set foot in a wedding dress shop. As she revealed her vision for her Rock and Roll wedding i soon knew she really meant it and that i was totally up for doing it. Black was essential but i was really keen to soften and enrich it with lashings of antique gold tones. This was partly inspired by her Malaysian heritage. The dress was to be baroque, punky, decadent and exquisite. I used light tulle and nude satin under the black. Gold beadwork, swarovski crystals and safety pins were piled on. Inspired by tatoos and charm bracelets i attached handmade crystal hearts .The whole wedding was to be Rock and Roll in a relaxed modern and personal way. Every element was infused with the couples creativity. A three metre detachable train added drama to her entrance and we commissioned a bespoke embroidered veil with some of her lyrics on. The wedding was at Wiltons Music Hall, a spectacular listed building in Londons east end, One of the very few remaining music halls retaining many original features.
“I feel like a f****ng princess !”
What a quote ! what more can i say? we had a blast , she totally rocked it and we even shed a tear!
